Mavs in Action
Please join us in cleaning up the road outside the entrance of Minneopa Falls State Park! This event runs from 9 AM to 10:30 AM, but we please ask that volunteers meet us in the flexible programming space located in the basement of the CSU (By Chic fil a) promptly at 8:45 AM so we can get you checked in and ready to go! Transportation, gloves, garbage bags, and trash grabbers will be provided! Snack and water will be available to you before and after the event  We hope to see you there!

Join Mavs in Action on Thursday, April 23rd, to prepare for the affirmation station! During finals week, Mavs in Action is going to have a station for students to give and take words of affirmation, so help us make this possible!

Looking to get off campus and serve the Greater Mankato Area Community? Here is what we have found. Area partners have one-time and ongoing needs. Each week we will highlight at least 3 area agencies who depend on volunteers.

Partners for Housing 
Have experience with DIY projects or completing a wide range of repairs? Consider volunteering your time to help out our shelter throughout the year with the various needs that arise. We can always use help with yard work, or cleaning rental units.

Community Farm Maintenance
Blue Earth County Community Farm 
Help Living Earth Center grow produce for the community! No experience or tools necessary. Dress for the weather, there is not much shade at the farm and it can get muddy when it rains. Our Farm Manager will be there and will work right alongside you. Tasks include but are not limited to hauling compost and hay, weeding, planting, pruning, harvesting, and so much more!

Donation Sorting 
Salvation Army Thrift Store 
Assist with customer service, merchandise display, light cleaning of store shelves & racks, and help with the receiving of donated merchandise at The Salvation Army Family Store. When volunteering there must be at least a two hour time commitment on any given day.

Mavs in Action news

This week we took our adventures on the road for our last Nursing Home visit of the semester! Volunteers interacted with residents and played BINGO, all while enjoying snacks and good company.

Although this was our last Nursing Home visit of this academic year, we still have a few more volunteer events coming up! If you are searching for volunteer hours or simply want to help the community, be sure to sign up for our upcoming volunteer opportunities!

A Fresh Start Mankato is an organization that helps people who are emerging from homelessness and providing them with quality furniture and other housing necessities.

Transportation will be provided.

Although this event runs from 9:30 AM to 12:30 pm we ask that those attending arrive around 9 AM to get checked in and ready to go!
